Open Day at the University of Reading Malaysia
The University of Reading is a global top 200 university with a campus in Reading UK and a new Malaysia campus located in Educity, Iskandar Johor (near Legoland!). The Malaysia campus offers students the best of both worlds – the opportunity to study for a prestigious UK degree, following the UK curriculum, at significantly lower cost compared with going to the UK.
Our Open Days in March are aimed largely at SPM holders and their parents, and is designed to give them a taste of what it’s like to be a student at the University of Reading and the study options available to them.
An obvious attraction for students is our stunning, high-tech campus that provides a safe, modern and comfortable setting for academic studies. Our classrooms are equipped with the last AV equipment, and there is a spacious learning resource centre, not to mention plenty of areas for students to socialise.
Our campus is located in Educity, Iskandar Johor. Educity is a dedicated education hub established by the government as part of the Iskandar development plan and is home to eight academic institutions, including the University of Reading. Educity has excellent sports facilities which include an indoor stadium, Olympic swimming pool, fitness centre and running track. Educity allows students to focus on their studies while still having fun and enjoying their social life without all the hassle of living in a big city
SPM holders will be interested to hear about our International Foundation Programme (IFP).
A unique feature of the IFP is that students who successfully complete the IFP can progress to their chosen degree either at the university’s UK campus in the beautiful town of Reading, which is only 25 minutes from London by train, or continue on the Malaysian campus.
On the IFP, students have the option to study a foundation in business or science, from which various pathways to an undergraduate degree are available to them including:
- Accounting and Finance
- Business
- Real Estate
- Building and construction
- Psychology
- Pharmacy
- Law (subject to provisional accreditation in Malaysia)
During open day, we explain the various pathways available to students, the career avenues that they provide, and the options around studying all or part of your University of Reading programme on the UK or Malaysia campus.
