Get a head start with a triple-accredited degree at Henley Business School
In an age where there is tight competition in job markets across the globe, it pays to be wise in choosing the right degree and tertiary education provider if you want to get ahead. At Henley Business School, which is part of the University of Reading, you can choose from a range of world renowned degrees, including accounting, business management, finance, and real estate, all of which can give you the competitive edge that employers are looking for.
Henley Business School’s Malaysia campus is located in EduCity, in the fast developing economic region of Iskandar Puteri, next to Singapore. It is offering students the chance to gain a top quality British degree on Malaysian soil. Students are also given the opportunity to study at the UK campus in Reading for a portion of their degree. This means getting a prestigious British degree is more affordable than ever.
Henley Business School is among an elite group of international business schools to be triple-accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA), all of which recognise the quality and capability of the school’s faculty and output. As part of the University of Reading, it operates within an academic institution that is placed within the top 200 of all global universities (QS World University Rankings 2019).
Nurturing students to become successful leaders has always been a stronghold of Henley Business School. The school’s endeavour is to empower individuals to become great professionals and outstanding business leaders who think with clarity and act with confidence and conviction. One individual who has shown exemplary leadership ability is Leon Choong, a second year Real Estate degree student at Henley Business School. As the President of RUMSA (Reading University Malaysia Students’ Association), Choong represents the student body and works closely with students and staff to resolve issues and lead initiatives to improve the quality of the student experience. He chose to study at Henley Business School because its real estate degree is ranked the best in the UK. “I would like to be a registered valuer and practice in Malaysia. The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Real Estate is accredited by both the Board of the Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. This means I will be able to practice in Malaysia and most of the Commonwealth countries once I pass the Test of Professional Competence from those organisations,” chimes 20 year-old Choong, who credits Henley Business School for the many opportunities he has been given to meet with experts from the industry and for helping him to land an internship with global real estate consultancy, Knight Frank in 2017.

Choong, who hails from Johor Bahru, is one of many of undergraduate students from UoRM who chose to fast-track his way to undergraduate degree level, by undertaking a Foundation in Business programme. He describes the one year course as a significant stepping stone for him. “What I liked about the Foundation Programme was that it enabled me to gain the fundamentals needed for my degree. The course helped me to shape my thoughts and attitudes in order for me to adapt to university life.”
Choong adds that the programme offered the relevant modules which have prepared him for the BSc Real Estate degree. “The Academic Skills module helped me to hone my academic writing skills. All of my modules have proven to be useful in my degree. For instance, I learnt about PEST analysis in IBM. In one of my Real Estate modules, we are required to understand PESTEL analysis, which is an “advanced” version of PEST. Also, the knowledge I gained from the Economics module I took during the Foundation in Business has been very crucial in several of my other Real Estate modules.
