The University of Reading Malaysia (UoRM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), a public university in Sarawak, East Malaysia.

The agreement was signed at UNIMAS on Thursday 9th August, and enables the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at UoRM and the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development at UNIMAS to collaborate in areas of research and knowledge sharing and exchange programmes.

The MOU was signed by UoRM Vice-Provost and Academic Director of Teaching & Learning, Dr Samantha Weston and UNIMAS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.

The ceremony was attended by staff from both institutions, including University of Reading Malaysia’s Head of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences, Dr Rachel Pye, who said: “We recognised the opportunity for collaboration and student exchanges between our two campuses. The agreement we have signed will pave the way for research internships and staff teaching exchanges such as guest seminars, lectures and professional development workshops.

We hope our partnership with UNIMAS will not only enhance our research but strengthen our profile as a research institution. We believe our particular expertise in experimental psychology can benefit UNIMAS students and provide experiences and skills they may not get from their own campus.”
