English Language Competence
NUMed’s foundation programme helps students to be competent in the English language. Students are equipped with the knowledge and understanding of academic English to successfully start an undergraduate degree programme, and will be able to write competent essays, case study reports, or laboratory reports.
Progression to Undergraduate Programmes
Upon completion of the foundation programme, students can progress to either the medical or biomedical sciences undergraduate programmes in NUMed. Students will also be able to choose from a wide range of undergraduate programmes in Newcastle University, UK, or enrol in a related undergraduate programme in other higher education institutions (subject to grades obtained).
Subject Knowledge
The programme will provide students with the necessary subject knowledge and intellectual development needed to be academically capable of studying higher medicine and/or biomedical sciences.
Practical Skills
Foundation students will be able to develop the required practical skills to conduct safe and effective laboratory or field experiments. Additionally, they will be able to apply the appropriate quantitative methods to data and to interpret results.
Approved and Registered
